Joseph Walker-Cousins MBE

Joseph Walker-Cousins MBE is Head of International Strategic Business Development for a leading Saudi digital health transformation company, where he supports international market expansion, strategic partnerships and government engagement across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

Joseph is also the Founder of In Veritate Advisory, an independent strategic advisory practice supporting organisations operating across complex government, private sector and emerging-market environments. In Veritate's work focuses on market entry, institutional relationships and commercial growth across the Middle East and beyond.

Previously, Joseph led Middle East strategic business development for KBR Government Solutions, supporting complex government programmes, infrastructure projects and major international opportunities across the Gulf region.

Before entering the private sector, Joseph served as a British Army officer on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan before working with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office. His diplomatic appointments included serving as Head of the British Embassy Office in Benghazi, Libya, together with advisory roles supporting UK government engagement across the Middle East and North Africa. He has also appeared as a specialist adviser to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee.

Joseph holds a Master's degree from SOAS, University of London, is a Senior Fellow of the Institute for Statecraft, and a Global Fellow of the Project for the Study of the 21st Century.

Today, Joseph combines commercial, diplomatic and operational experience developed across government, defence and international business, with a particular focus on complex markets where institutional understanding, relationships and local insight are critical to successful market entry and strategic growth.
